Use of the Crease Recovery Tester

2019-06-12

Crease Recovery Tester is used to determine crease recovery performance of fabrics by creasing in a loading device for a predetermined time using a weight suitable for the test method specified (BS, ISO, AATCC). After transferring the specimen to the clamp of the tester, the specimen is allowed to recover and the angle of recovery is recorded.

Standards

ISO 2313, BS EN 22313, M&S P22, AATCC 66, GB/T 3819

Prepare the sample

1.Condition:the textile sample atmospheric condition according to the definition in the ISO 139.

2. Sample preparation:

(1)Cut the sample of size 40mm×15mm from the textile according to the standard.

(2)Sample quantity should be more than 12,6 warp direction and 6 weft direction.

(3)The sample should placed evenness in the standard environment for 4 hours to make them reach the balance.

Begin to test:

1.When the sample come to the pressure time ,move the hand shank rapidly and lift the weight ,take out the paper in the sample middle.

2.Lift the sample clamp on the angle test device rapidly, and put one end of sample to the clamp, the crease line should be parallel to the sample clamp and vertical to the angle scale, put down the sample clamp and make it clamp the sample evenness, the other end of sample overhang freely.

3.Rotate the angle scale, make the sample overhang and keep upright(That means sample overhang edge coincide with the indicator red line in the middle.

4.Operate 5min±5s as the method of 3.3, and read the indicator angle value.

5.Test the other samples as the method of Step 2~3,fold method as follow:

Warp direction sample :Three pieces of positive joint.

Warp direction sample :Three pieces of back joint.

Weft direction sample :Three pieces of positive joint.

Weft direction sample : Three pieces of back joint.
