Fabric tensile strength test

2019-03-15

Tensile strength tester to determine the breaking strength and elongation of most fabrics are not recommended for knitted fabrics or fabrics with high tensile values.To determine the tensile strength of the fabric, two types of tests were carried out. They were:

1. Stripping test (British standard)

2. Grab test (American standard)

Tensile strength tester

1. stripping test (British standard) :

Sample preparation:

(1)5 samples for warp direction;

(2)5 zonal samples;

(3) Take the sample (60mmx300) mm first, and then wear it to (50mm x300) mm.

Test procedure:

(1) The sample is clamped in the mouth of forceps;

(2)CRE loads 500mm/min;

(3) The meter length is 200mm.

Test results:

(1) Average destructive power

(2) Average elongation at break

2. Grab test (American style) :

Sampling preparation:

(1) Sample size: 100x1500mm;

(2)Jaw width -25 mm;

(3) Meter length -75 mm.

Test procedure:

(1) The sample is clamped between the jaws;

(2) Adjust the speed and then destroy the sample within 20 3 seconds.

Test results:

(1) Average destructive power.

(2) Average elongation at break.
