Uv aging test chamber simulates natural rain test

2018-10-26

Outdoor materials (paint, plastics, rubber... ) exposure to moist air can last more than 12 hours a day, but professional studies have shown that the main cause of outdoor humidity is dew in the air, not rain.

The uv aging test chamber simulates the effects of outdoor moisture through a unique set of condensation principles. In the cooling cycle of the equipment, there is a water storage tank at the bottom of the tank body, which is heated to produce water vapor. The hot steam keeps the relative humidity in the test chamber at 100% and at a relatively high temperature. The design of the product ensures that the test specimen actually constitutes the side wall of the test chamber, thereby exposing the back of the specimen to indoor ambient air. The cooling effect of indoor air caused the surface temperature of the specimen to drop several degrees below the steam temperature. As a result of this temperature difference, liquid water is always condensed on the surface of the specimen during the whole condensation cycle. This condensate is a very stable pure distilled water. This purified water increases the reproducibility of the test while avoiding water stains.

Since outdoor exposure to humidity can be up to 12 hours per day, the uv aging test chamber generally has a wet cycle lasting several hours.UTS International Co., LTD recommend that each condensation cycle should last at least 4 hours. . Note that UV insolation and condensation insolation in the equipment are separate and consistent with actual climatic conditions.

For some applications, water spraying can better simulate the environmental conditions of final use. Water sprinkling is extremely useful in simulating mechanical erosion caused by sudden changes in temperature and by rain. Roofing, automotive materials and coatings used in metal buildings or structures are often subject to sudden temperature upheaval. In hot summer, for example, when the heat builds up, it suddenly dissipates as a result of the storm. The consequences of this temperature upheaval are a challenge for many materials. The uv aging test chamber spray type is specially designed to reproduce this condition.

Wood coatings, including paints and colorants, are subject to erosion due to frequent erosion from rain water. Recent studies have shown that this rain-wash action can wash away the biodegradable coating on the material's surface, exposing the material itself directly to damaging effects of UV and moisture. This process can be repeated many times, resulting in a material degradation phenomenon.
