Test standard of fabric permeability

At present, the commonly used standards for air permeability test include ASTM D737 test method for air permeability of textiles, ISO 9237 test method for air permeability of textile fabrics, GB/T 5453 test for air permeability of textile fabrics and JIS L1096 test method for air permeability of textiles.

JIS L1096 is divided into A method and B method. A method USES Fraser permeability tester, and the pressure difference is 125Pa. The method B used gurley permeability tester to measure the time of 300ml air passing through the fabric at a specific pressure difference. Air permeability is expressed in time in s, and this method is suitable for woollen fabrics. Because JIS L1096 requires specific instruments, it is not commonly used in daily quality testing.
