The phenomenon in textiles where fibers and yarns are pulled out of the surface of the fabric by hooking is called hooking.Knitted fabrics and textured filaments are easy to be hooked when they encounter hard objects and form loops and/or tight sections on the surface of the fabric.When touching a sharp object with a strong force, the filaments can be easily broken and protrude into a woolly filament.The fabric produces a hook, not only the appearance is seriously deteriorated, but also affects the durability of the fabric.

Nailhammer Method for Evaluating the Properties of Textile Fabric hooks GB/ T11047-2008.

Ii. Testing instruments and principles

Detection principle: the cylinder-shaped sample is covered on the rotating cylinder, and the chain hanging hammer is placed on the surface of the sample.When the rotating cylinder rotates at a constant speed, the hammer randomly turns and jumps on the surface of the sample, so as to produce hook wire on the surface of the sample.After a specified number of revolutions, the sample's hook degree is rated by comparing with the standard sample.

Test instruments and tools

1. Nail hammer hook:

(1) The diameter of the ball of the hammer is 32mm, and the distance between the hammer and the guide bar is 45mm;

(2) 11 tungsten carbide needles were implanted equidistant on the hammer, and the exposed length of the needles was 10mm;

(3) The rotating speed of the cylinder is (60±2)r/min;

(4) The felt is 3 ~ 3.2mm thick and 165mm wide. It should be replaced when it is used for 200h or when the surface becomes rough and other serious wear phenomena occur.

2. Evaluation board: The thickness of the evaluation board shall not exceed 3mm and the specification shall be 140mm×280mm

5. Rating box: The rating box USES quartz halogen lamps of 12 V and 55 W;Hook 5 standard sample

Iii. Performance evaluation of the hook

If the sample hook contains medium hook or long hook, the grade shall be down-graded according to the table, and the cumulative down-grading of the middle and long hook in a sample shall be no more than 1 grade.If necessary, evaluate the sample's hook performance. Grade ≥4 indicates good hook resistance; grade ≥3 ~ 4 indicates good hook resistance; grade ≤3 indicates poor hook resistance.

Note :(1) the revolution can be selected according to the needs of special fabric structure or agreed by all parties concerned.(2) If the grade difference of the hook wire of the sample in the same direction exceeds 1 grade, two more pieces should be measured.
