In textiles, the phenomenon of fibers and yarns being pulled out of the fabric by being hooked is called hook wire.Knitted fabrics and textured filament woven fabrics are easy to hook when encountering hard objects in the process of use, and form silk rings and/or tightening yarn segments on the fabric surface.When the sharp object is encountered, and the force is violent, the single silk is easy to be cut off, showing hair-like protruding at the fabric.The fabric produces hook wire, which not only seriously deteriorates the appearance, but also affects the durability of the fabric.ICI Mace Snag Tester can test it.

2.Testing instrument and testing principle

Detection principle: the tubular sample is placed on the rotating cylinder, and the nail hammer suspended by the chain is placed on the surface of the sample.When the rotating cylinder rotates at a constant speed, the nail hammer flips and beats randomly on the surface of the sample, causing the hook wire to be generated on the surface of the sample.After the specified number of revolutions, the hook degree of the sample was rated by comparing the standard sample.

Testing instruments and tools

1. Nail hammer hook:

(1) the diameter of the hammer ball is 32mm, and the distance between the hammer and the guide bar is 45mm;

(2) there were 11 tungsten implanted pins with equal spacing on the nail hammer, and the exposed length of the pins was 10mm;

(3) the rotating speed of the barrel was (60±2)r/min;

(4) the thickness of the felt is 3 ~ 3.2mm and the width is 165mm. Generally, it should be replaced when it is used for 200h or the surface becomes rough.

2. Evaluation board: the thickness of the evaluation board shall not exceed 3mm, and the specification shall be 140mm×280mm

3. Performance evaluation of hook wire

If the sample hook wire contains medium hook wire or long hook wire, the grade shall be down-graded according to the table. The cumulative down-grading of a sample hook wire and long hook wire shall be up to 1 grade.If necessary, the hook wire performance of the sample should be evaluated. ≥4 means good anti-hook wire ability; ≥ 3-4 means anti-hook wire ability; ≤3 means poor anti-hook wire performance.

Note :(1) with special fabric structure, or with the agreement of the parties concerned, the number of revolutions may be selected as required.(2) if the hook wire grade difference of the sample in the same direction exceeds 1 grade, two more pieces shall be measured.
