Leather has a very important application is used in the field of automotive interior, with the rapid development of the automotive industry, the industry's detection of the performance of the car is becoming more and more stringent.
For example, the wear resistance test of car leather is an example.
The standard stipulates that the wear resistance of leather for car seats and steering wheels must meet:

Evaluation method
The leather surface can not be worn or shed, can have a luster change but can not have obvious color change.
The main wear resistance testing methods of automotive leather include Taber wear resistance method, Martindale wear resistance method and STROLL wear resistance method.
taber wear-resistant tester is Taber wear-resistant test instrument, Martindale wear-resistant test instrument is Martindale wear-resistant test instrument, Co., Ltd. is the manufacturer, can provide related test instruments, welcome to demand customer inquiries.
Taber wear resistance method: The American standard ASTM D 3884-2009 specifies the TABER wear resistance method.
Test principle: The tested sample is placed on a rotating platform, and the sample is worn by two rolling friction wheels above it under a certain load.
One friction wheel faces outward and the other friction wheel faces inward to rub the specimen, forming a circular ring of wear marks.
After the specified number of frictions, the wear degree of the sample is evaluated by appearance.
Operation process: The sample is fixed face up on the rotating platform, and the selected grinding wheel is installed on the support rod. After the appropriate load is selected, the support rod is lowered so that the grinding wheel is in contact with the specimen surface, and the dust suction device is connected and opened. Start the instrument and test according to the number of rotations set by the counter. After the test, remove the sample, check and record the wear of the sample, and use the gray sample card according to GB/T 2502008 "Textile color fastness test Evaluation color change gray sample card". Martindale wear resistance method: Martindale wear resistance method is often used in textile wear resistance test and pinion evaluation,GB/T3903.16-2008 "Wear resistance of footwear upper, lining and inner pad test method" provides the use of Martindale method to test the upper test method, but also suitable for automotive leather wear resistance test. The sample was rubbed with a standard friction fabric under constant pressure using the Martindale wear-resistant method. The relative motion of the Lisaru pattern between the friction fabric and the sample produces friction in all directions. The damage degree of the sample is assessed after the specified number of frictions is completed.
Operation process: During operation, a piece of polyazol foam with a thickness of (3±1)mm and a density of (30±3)kg/m3 is flat padded on the back of the sample, and the sample is fixed on the grinding head with a clamp ring. Then the table felt is placed on the grinding table, and the friction fabric is placed on the table felt, and a weight generating (2±0.2)kPa pressure is placed on the friction fabric, and the friction fabric is fixed. Install the grinding head on the wear resistance test machine, and apply (12±0.2)kPa pressure to the grinding head, start the instrument, and test according to the rotation times set by the counter. After the test, the sample was removed, the wear of the sample was checked and recorded, and the color change in the test area was evaluated with a gray sample card according to GB/T 250-2008 "Gray sample Card for Textile Color Fastness Test Evaluation of Color change".
