AATCCTM169-2003 and TM186-2006 test standards

The AATCC tm169-2003 test standard provides an artificial climate device to insolate various types of textile materials, including coated fabrics, by controlling the test conditions. This standard includes two control procedures: wet sample and dry sample.

Material's ability to resist aging under specified test conditions, including strength (breaking, tearing, draping) and color fastness.

Xenon lamp test box conforms to AATCC TM169 model number and setting method.

The AATCC tm186-2006 test method provides procedures for exposure testing of various textile materials, including coated fabrics and products manufactured therefrom. The test USES laboratory artificial aging exposure device, USES fluorescent uv lamp as the light source, USES condensation humidification and/or spray humidification.



1. Test principle:

The samples were exposed to fluorescent uv light source and moistened regularly under controllable conditions. According to the reference standard and exposure standard, the material is evaluated under the standard textile test condition. Its biodegradability is expressed as the percentage of strength loss or the percentage of strength residue (fracture or burst) or color change.

2. Test purpose:

This test method provides exposure procedures for a variety of textile materials, including coated fabrics and coated products, under laboratory artificial climate exposure devices using fluorescent uv lamps as the source, condensation humidity and/or water spray.

3. Test rules:

The sample was exposed to fluorescent uv light under controlled conditions and moistened periodically. When assessed under standard textile conditions, the degradability of the test material may be expressed as a percentage of strong loss or a percentage of residual strength (breaking or proper bursting) and/or the colour fastness of the material.
