To determine the abrasion resisitance property for textiles, leather, leather cloak, so as to provide the reference for improving quality.

Test Principle

Mount a strip sample fabric onto the clamps of abrasion head and apply a certain pressure on it. Then install abrasive media on the circular arc shape of abrasion plateform, to make sample contact with abrasive media and apply a certain load on sample. Abrasive plateform wear sample by oscillating back and forth, and after a certain times of abrasion to assess sample breaking strength change.

Sample installation:

1, option 1 place the sample in a long-size single-arm fixture parallel to the wear direction and place the sample on the fabric surface in contact with the abrasive.Fix specimen with back clamp.Clamp the specimen with the front clamp and maintain the same tension in the short direction to tighten the specimen while pulling the weighted tension bar back to the horizontal position.Fix the front clamp.To ensure uniform tension on all yarns, use a fixture of at least 1.5 inches to tighten the specimen.Wide jaw, perpendicular to its edge.

2. Select 2 to fix the specimen in the front clip with the arm upward.Pass the specimen through the back clamp without tightening.Keep the arm on top, push and pull the lever, adjust the bottom clip cloth.Tighten the back clip with one hand and keep the fabric in the arm down position. The tension bar is horizontal and needs to be adjusted slightly.

3. Adjust the knurled screw on the arm top to make the pressure bar in a horizontal position.This position depends on the thickness of the specimen.Check with the level.

4. Ensure additional samples on all test arms as instructed.

5. Set the automatic counter on the grinder to stop at the specified cycle number.Set to 3000 if no cycle number is specified.For longer tests, check every 5,000 cycles.

6. Start the machine and grind the sample to the set cycle number.

7. If the specimen is stretched during the test, adjust the knurled screw behind the clamp and pull the scaled tension rod back to the horizontal position with a level.

8. each cycle of longitudinal (longitudinal) grinding samples 2, zonal (horizontal) grinding samples 2.The number of test samples specified in the material specification.

9.When the specimen reaches the specified cycle number or other specified end point or failure, it shall be evaluated according to one or more of the following procedures.
