Some use of compression test disc

This test compression disc can provide pressure test for plane of toys. According to standards’ requirements: Any area on the surface of a toy that is accessible to a child and inaccessible to flat-surface contact during the impact test shall be subject to this compression test.

Application Range
1.Hard tiny ball toy.
2.Glass toys or components.
3.Toy drive encapsulation shell.
4.The toys attached to the food.
5.Toy or components of expansion material.
6.Rattle toys and seams of plastic similar to toys.
7.The magnetic components can be reached of toy.

8.All the hard material masking on the face( goggles, a space helmet or welding mask).

Operation

Ensure the loading device shall be a rigid metal disk 1.125±0.015 in. (0.380 mm) in diameter and 0.375 in. (9.52 mm) in thickness. The perimeter of the disk shall be rounded to a radius of 1 ⁄ 32 in. (0.8 mm) to eliminate irregular edge.


The disk shall be attached to an appropriate compression scale having an accuracy of ±0.5 lb (2 N). The disk shall be positioned so that the flat contact surface is parallel to the surface under test. The required force shall be applied evenly within 5 s through the disk. This load shall be maintained for an additional 10 s. The toy is to rest on a flat, hard surface in any convenient position during the test.


Apply a compression force according to the standard (table 1)through a rigid metal disc with a diameter of (30 ± 1,5) mm/28.6±0.38mm to the area to be tested. Determine whether the casing of toys intended for children too young to sit up unaided has separated into parts or cracked . Determine whether small parts hazardous sharp edges, hazardous sharp points or hazardous driving mechanisms have become accessible .
