Core height is defined

Measurement of capillary effect of test material, that is, when one end of a vertically suspended textile material is soaked with water, the water rises along the height of the textile material through capillary action in a certain period of time.

Test method for core height

1. Cut 3 pieces of representative sample longitudinally (or longitudinally) and 3 pieces longitudinally (or longitudinally). The size of each sample is 250mm×30mm to ensure that the edge yarn along the length of the sample is a complete yarn;

2. Place the sample in standard atmospheric conditions to reduce the humidity balance;

3. One end of the 6 samples is fixed on the beam frame of the instrument, and the tension clip with appropriate quality is installed at the lower end of the sample 8mm~10mm to keep the sample vertical;

4. Adjust the position of the sample, so that the sample is close to and parallel to the ruler, the lower end is located below the zero of the ruler 15mm±2mm;

5. Reduce the beam frame so that the liquid level is in the zero position of the ruler (the lower end of the sample is located below the liquid level 15mm 2mm), at this time to start recording;

6. Measure the minimum suction height of liquid core at 30min (unit: mm);

7. The average value of the minimum liquid core height of 3 samples in the meridian (or longitudinal) and zonal (or transverse) direction was calculated respectively, and the calculation result was reserved to one decimal place.

Core height assessment index

Core absorption height is the main assessment index of moisture absorption of textile products, which should be reached before and after washing:

Knitting products core height (mm) : ≥100

Woven products core absorption height (mm) : ≥90
