How to Use Yarn Dynamic Coefficient of Friction
  • 2023-05-26 17:16:30

Choose the appropriate standard according to your own goals. The most commonly used method is the friction method. The standard it requires is ASTM D3108. Select the standard we need in the setting interface. According to the standard description, set the yarn speed and angle we need (the angle can be kept at 180, and the yarn The speed is 100M/min as stipulated in the standard), and the input tension is set. The input tension of the yarn with a linear density range of 1.5tex~80tex is 9.8mN/tex, and the input tension of the yarn with a linear density exceeding 80tex is 3.0mN/tex. According to the linear density of our test material, enter the input tension we need in the input tension in the settings. After setting the parameters, click OK.

Choose the solid friction material we need according to the linear density we want to test. The solid friction material with a linear density ranging from 1.5tex to 80tex is 12.7mm, and the solid friction material with a linear density exceeding 80tex is 22mm. (The machine comes with three solid friction materials, the largest one is used in the skein method, the middle one is 22mm, and the smallest one is 12.7mm)

Then please perform the experiment according to the selected standard procedure. (When the experiment is in progress, after loading the samples, remember to reset the machine).

When you finish the 60s experiment, before proceeding to the next 60s experiment, you must first press the sample clamp button, and let the sample clamp be clamped first to prevent the line from being stuck. Please operate according to the standard experiment and the machine manual provided by me.

The steps shown in the figure below are the steps described in the ASTM D 3108 standard. If you choose other standards, the descriptions in other standards shall prevail.
