Standard light source boxes are widely used in textiles, printing and dyeing, plastics, paints, inks, printing, pigments, chemicals, ceramics, footwear, leather, hardware, food, cosmetics and other industries for visual evaluation, color matching proofing, identification of color differences, fluorescent substances, etc. In the field of color management, samples, production, quality inspection, and acceptance are all run under the same standard light source, and the color deviation of the goods is accurately calibrated to ensure that the color quality of the goods meets the requirements, thereby improving product quality and market competitiveness. Precautions for standard color matching cabinet
1. After the standard light source box lamp is used for more than 2,000 hours, it must be replaced with a new lamp to avoid affecting the visual observation of color due to the aging of the lamp.
2. When the inner wall panel of the standard light source box is stained, you can use a clean soft cloth dipped in an alkaline low-concentration detergent to wipe it clean to make the inner frame clean and dry, and to avoid detection items from damaging the light-absorbing coating on the inner wall of the light box and affecting the color matching effect.
3. If the inner panel of the standard light source box is damaged and cannot absorb light, it should be replaced. If the lamp tube is used overtime and causes blackening and aging at both ends, the lamp tube should be replaced with a new one.
4. The selection of various light sources in the standard light source box is controlled by the name of the corresponding light source on the box to achieve quick switching and quick lighting. Place the two items that need to be compared for color deviation in the central symmetrical position of the matching color light source box. As long as the angle between the human eye or light and the object being measured is 45 degrees, it is the best observation angle.
5. The standard light source box in the physical, chemical and thermal instrument calibration laboratory should try to avoid external light from shining on the items being tested, and other debris should not be placed in the light box.


Correct use of standard light box

1. Observation angle
The following points are all facilities that a standard color matching light source box must be equipped with. In addition, the viewing angle will also directly affect the evaluation results. According to international standards, only two viewing angles can be used, they are:
a. Zero-degree light source, 45-degree observation (0°-45°), that is, the light source shines on the sample from a zero-degree (vertical) incident angle, and the observer observes the sample from 45 degrees.
b. Light source, 45° inclined platform
45-degree light source, zero-degree observation (0°-45°). In this layout, a specific 45-degree tilt table (45°Fixed angle table) must be used so that the light source shines on the sample from 45 degrees, and the observer observes from zero degree (vertical) sample.
2. The placement position of the 45° light source detection sample
No matter which of the above observation methods is used, it must be noted that the test sample is placed in the middle of the light box as much as possible to reduce the influence of external light sources. In addition, the most important thing is that when you need to compare the colors of two or more objects, you should try not to overlap them for observation. It is best to place them side by side in a light box for comparison.
3. Light box maintenance
A complete maintenance plan can ensure that your light box is in standard condition for a long time: be careful not to stain the inner wall of the light box when using it; if you find stains or paint peeling, you should immediately send personnel to repair or replace the inner wall panels, and need to regularly Check the use of lamps or brightness, etc.
4. Requirements for environmental factors when performing color matching
All external light that will have photos on the test sample must be avoided as much as possible. If the window is within the field of view, gray curtains should be installed to block it, so it is ideal to use a color-matching light source box in a dark room. Another point that is often overlooked is that no other debris should be placed in the color light source box.
5. Equipped with the function of testing metameric effects
The so-called metamerism effect means that under a certain light source, the color displayed by the sample is the same as the requirement, but under another light source, the color difference is unacceptable. Under D65 light source, the color is no different from the standard, but under A light source, the color of the sample is unacceptable. Therefore, all equipment that measures color light sources must be equipped with two or more light sources to test the metamerism effect.
6. Requirements when converting light sources
Based on daily life experience, in our eyes, it is like having a temporary register. When the color changes in a very short time, we can clearly feel it. Therefore, when observing metamerism, if you want to change the light source, it must be done in an instant. It must not be like the lighting tubes we use daily, which have to flash and then turn on, because this will irritate the eyes. department, affecting the review results.
7. Record the time used by standard lamps
All standard color-matching light sources are also produced by lamp tubes or lamps, and manufacturers will also list that the quality of their products remains within acceptable tolerances within a certain period of operation. Therefore an accurate time recorder is indispensable. Usually these lamps need to be replaced if they are used for more than 2,000 hours or a year.
8. UV light source
Since fluorescent and whitening dyes are widely used in the current industry, the best way to detect these effects is to use ultraviolet light source, and never focus on a certain area.
9. The arrangement position of light tubes
Although there are no specific requirements for the arrangement position of the lamps, their distribution position must be such that there is a uniform light source in the color-matching light source box, and they must not be biased to a certain area.
