Fabric strength machine breaking strength test
  • 2019-10-12 09:19:04

The breaking strength test of the fabric strength machine is to measure the breaking strength of the sample by holding it in the middle part of the sample in a clamp of a specified size and stretching it until it breaks at a specified tensile speed.

Holder:

The center of the two clamps of the instrument should be on the tension line, the jaw should be perpendicular to the tension line, and the clamping surface should be on the same plane.Clamps shall be able to hold the specimen without slipping, shearing or destroying it.If the sample slip, the clamping surface can be used appropriate pad lining material.

The size of the clamping sample area in the grab test shall be (25 mm ± 1mm) X (25 mm ± 1mm).This size can be achieved by one of the following methods:

A) a clamp shall be 25mm wide and at least 40mm long. The clamp length is perpendicular to the tension line. The other clamp is the same size as the previous clamp, and its length is parallel to the tension line.

B) the width of each clamp shall be 25mm, and the length shall be at least 40. The length of each clamp shall be perpendicular to the tension line. The size of the other clip is 25mm X 25mm.

Sample:

Two groups of samples were cut from each sample, one longitudinal or longitudinal and the other zonal or transverse.

Each set of samples shall consist of at least 5 pieces. In case of higher requirements, the number of samples should be increased. The sample should be representative and avoid the folds and defects of the fabric. The sample should be at least 150mm away from the edge of the cloth to ensure that the sample is evenly distributed on the sample.

The width of each sample shall be 100mm mm or 2mm and the length shall be at least 150mm.

On each sample, a marking line parallel to the side 37.5mm from the length direction is drawn.

Wet specimen: if the wet strength of the fabric needs to be measured, the length of the cut specimen should be twice that of the dry strength specimen. After the two ends of each sample are numbered, two pieces are cut horizontally, one for the determination of 1000 strength and the other for the determination of wet strength.

According to experience or estimate the shrinkage of the soaked fabric is larger, the length of the wet strength test specimen should be longer than that of the dry strength test specimen.

The wetting test specimens should be immersed in water of three levels or an aqueous solution containing a non-ionic wetting agent per liter for more than 1h.

Test steps:

1. Set the distance length as 100mm.If other separation is adopted by agreement of the parties concerned, it shall be indicated in the test report.

2. Set the drawing speed to 50mm/min.

3. Clamping the sample, holding the middle part of the sample, ensuring that the longitudinal center line of the sample passes through the center line of the clamp, and is perpendicular to the jaw line of the clamp.Align the mark line on the sample with one side of the clamp, close the upper clamp, hang down by the weight of the fabric, and close the lower clamp.

4. Determine, start the tensile tester, stretch the specimen to break off, and record the breaking strength (unit N).

If the sample is fractured within 5mm from the jaw, the jaw is considered broken. When the test of 5 samples is completed, if the fracture value of the clamp mouth is larger than the "normal" fracture value, it can be retained; if it is smaller than the "normal" fracture value, it can be discarded and additional test amount can be added to obtain the 5 "normal" fracture values. If all test results are tongs fracture, or 5 "normal" fracture values cannot be obtained, the presentation value should be reported.

Used in all kinds of textile fabric strength machine tensile, tear, bursting, and fixed load at specified elongation, flexibility, suture slip, stripping, such as mechanical property test, and is widely used in rubber, plastic, leather, metal, wire, paper, packaging, building materials, petrochemical, electrical, geotechnical materials tensile, compression, bending, adhesive, peel, tear, bursting strength, elongation and creep test, the deformation test.
